How Has the Lord Inspired You Recently?

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7)

The Lord searches far and wide to find a heart that is seeking after Him. He wants to use each of us as a light to the world to carry out the work of love He has set before us. All too often, however, we are distracted by day-to-day activities and put the Lord’s work on the backburner. But Paul calls us to “fan in to flame the gift of God”!

Last summer, four men from a small church in Northeast Ohio were privileged to go and see India. For these men, seeing the work the Lord is doing in India fanned into flame their passion for the Lord’s ministry. Here is what they had to say about their trip:

“I feel the trip has given me new depths to my gratitude and new motivation to give and serve.” – Neil Brooks

“…while we were there we were extraordinarily humbled by the believers there and their work for the Gospel.” – David Kyle

“It was uplifting to my personal faith, in a way I cannot describe, to experience the same God of the universe I worship in comfort here in the United States ministering to the Indian people in a powerful way.” – Joe Allie

This experience “showed us in a tangible way how over-the-top God’s prodigal grace towardHis children is.” – Mark Michalek

They were so inspired by their trip that when they returned home they inspired their church to adopt a village in India for five years through IGL’s Adopt-a-Village program! The Lord calls each of us to be a part of His work. How will you be a part of it?
